"Active Cases" are those in which the student/staff has received a lab-confirmed positive test or medical diagnosis and has not been cleared to return.
* "Quarantine numbers" are based on cases during school hours including individuals considered positive contacts (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes of a person positive for COVID-19). We understand others may be in quarantine based on community spread, but we report on the dashboard students the SCPH have advised the SMFCSD to quarantine based on contact tracing.
Reported COVID-19 cases are based on information provided by the Summit County Public Health Department, parents, guardians, caregivers and are either confirmed based on testing or clinical diagnosis. Families of close contacts will be notified based on the Summit County Public Health Department contact tracing protocol.

Update: December 3, 2020
The SMFCSD COVID-19 Response Team met today to review the current data aligned to the criteria established by the Board of Education in the resolution passed on 11/6/2020. The number of students and staff that are isolated or quarantined as the result of direct exposure at school or in a school-sponsored extracurricular activities has decreased since last week. All school buildings have seen over 90% student attendance rates, even today. The districts within the Six District Educational Compact have seen a similar pattern of a decrease in cases from the week of 11/16. The district has successfully filled 100% of staff absences until today when one intervention specialist position was not covered. The team acknowledged the sharp increase in cases within the Stow and Munroe Falls community over the past two weeks, but we also discussed that we have not seen that spread significantly within our school buildings. At this point, the committee has recommended that we continue to operate in our hybrid learning environment with the mitigation strategies that we have implemented since August.
Summit County moved to the purple designation on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System today. At this level, the Ohio Department of Health advises residents to only leave their homes for “supplies and services.” The Ohio Department of Education has released Considerations for Schools and Districts in Purple Counties which states that education is considered a “service” and schools can remain in operation. SMFCSD will continue to monitor the criteria set forth in the Board resolution every day, and we are prepared to make a change in our learning environment should the data indicate that one is needed.
