Spring 2021 NFL Flag Football
My name is Elliott Giles and I’m the founder and league president of the Youngstown
Youth FIag Football Association The Y.Y.F.F.A., which was established in 2007.
Through the league’s desire to get area children involved in positive recreational
activities, the Y.Y.F.F.A. has grown from serving 80 kids our inaugural season, to over
1000 kids a year between our fall and spring seasons. As a result of this success and
the overwhelming interest shown from members of your community, we have
already expanded our league to the Western PA area and now, moving out to your area
to provide the children of Summit County the same amazing opportunity. We believe in
the old adage “See a need, fill a need” and that is our goal by bringing youth flag
football to your students and community.
Not only am I the league founder and president, I am a member of the NFL Flag
Football Council. A group of 10-12 league organizers formed to help expand and grow
the game. I am a teacher by trade so putting kids first has been my mission since I first
stepped into a classroom. I played under Coach Jim Tressel at YSU and had the honor
of being a part of 2 Championship teams with him. In 2010, I was inducted into the YSU
Football Hall of Fame and continue to contribute and support my alma mater as an
Before embarking on this journey to bring this wonderful game and league to your
county, we are excited to have been given territory rights from NFL Flag to ensure that
our program will not be the only the NFL Sanctioned flag football league but also give us
the opportunity to grow even more within the county in the future. In order to get started
promoting the league, we are requesting approval to distribute fliers to all the students
in your school district from grades K-8 to take home and/or permission to email the flyer
to your families. Our organization will take care of printing, packaging and will just
deliver to your admin for you to distribute. We appreciate your consideration with this
matter as we continue to keep our students engaged and active in a safe, non-contact
