hires Saternow as Director of Special Services
The Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education tonight approved the hiring of Dr. Marty
E. Saternow, Director of Special Services. She will replace Roberta John who
is retiring Sept. 30.
Saternow has been the Director of Pupil Services for Crestwood Local Schools
since 1999 and has been working in public education for 31 years. She has a bachelor’s
degree in education from Slippery Rock University, a master’s in education
from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate in special education also from
the University of Pittsburgh.
“I am very excited to have Dr. Saternow join our district. She has almost
20 years experience as a special education director,” said Superintendent
Dr. Russell D. Jones. “She comes extremely highly recommended and is known
as an expert in special education among the education community.”
“I am extremely excited about joining a really strong administrative team,” said
Saternow. “With my skills and experience, I want to continue to be part
of helping Stow-Munroe Falls remain an excellent school district. I am aware
of the many programs that Bobbi has put in place and am excited to be continuing
them. I am a strong advocate for children with special needs, as is Bobbi. My
role in that won’t change.”
Saternow’s two-year contract begins Aug. 1 and her annual salary will be
$90,000. Page posted 6/24/08
