These procedures are to keep all students safe.
It takes everyone to make it work.

PARKING LOT SAFETY
Students are not permitted to cross into the parking lot without adult assistance.
The crossing guard has right-of-way.

Drop and Drive

Our parking lot works well when all people cooperate!

A.M. Parents may drop off students by pulling directly forward (loop around) to unload near the crosswalk. The crossing guard is to be obeyed at all times to ensure student safety. This is a quick, pull up to the crosswalk, have your child exit from your passenger side and drive away. The driver is to remain in their vehicle at all times.

Remember, the lanes in the front of the school are for buses only at all times!

Dismissal Procedures
When picking up your child at the end of the day, please sign your child’s name on the sign-out sheet in the Gym. If you know you will be picking up your child please send a note in with your child and we will add their name to the pick up list. The adult waiting area is at the gymnasium which will open at 3:25. Once you meet your child, please exit the building. This will free up the main hallway for the next set of students who are dismissed.
Parents who meet their child daily to walk them home will be directed to meet them in the gym as well.
The main hallway Exit and sidewalk is for student dismissal with no parent match up. We need to be able to
see all of our students who need to
be sent home via crossing guard or bus.
This minor change is for the safety of our students.

 

P.M. Bus riders - All bus riders will remain in their classrooms until their bus is called. The main hallway and front exit door and walkway needs to remain clear of adult visitors from 3:30-3:40. Staff members on duty are able to visually watch that students board buses and head off home when the area is students only.

P.M. Walkers - All walkers are to exit the building using the main hallway that opens to the school crosswalk. Students are to use the services of the crossing guard when crossing in the parking lot. The main exit is to be kept open for dismissal supervision. Any adult/pick-up caretaker must report and remain in the gym (after-school pick-up zone).

P.M. CAR POOL PICK-UP All vehicles are to line up in a single file loop along the side of the building near the gym door. You may enter the gym to sign your child out between 3:25 and 3:35 pm through the dismissal door labeled AFTER-SCHOOL PICK UP.
(You know your child best. If you have a slow-moving child, please do not be first in line – this system works successfully in many other schools as long as ALL parents cooperate!)

Any parent leaving their car AT ANY TIME, must park in a parking space!

(Several parents have suggested parking on the next street over and using the crosswalk cut through)

The end of our day is full of activity and excitement. Our students need to have our attention for those critical 10 minutes between 3:30-3:40. Thank you for your cooperation in following these dismissal procedures.
