Recycle Your Paper at Our Schools!

The students and staff of the Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools have teamed up with Abitibi Recycling Corp. to begin the Abitibi Paper Retriever Program.

Anyone in the community can recycle paper 24 hours a day. All paper dropped off at the recycling bin will help the schools, as Abitibi pays $15 per ton. Businesses are also welcome to recycle their paper at these sites.

Paper suitable for recycling through the Paper Retriever program includes all clean and dry:

Newspapers
Magazines
Shopping catalogs
Office and school papers
Mail

Shredded paper bundled in plastic bags is also acceptable. Phone books, manila folders and manila envelopes are not accepted.

Abitibi Recycling will empty the Paper Retriever once a week and take the paper to the processing center to be sorted. Paper is then sent to one of Abitibi’s de-inking facilities where it is turned into marketable paper products such as newsprint.

Everyone in the community is encouraged to participate in this innovative program to recycle paper products. Local involvement can help save landfills pace, clean up the environment and earn money for the local schools.

In the program’s first 12 months, the district recycled 385 tons of paper, which netted $3,852 for the schools!

We'd like to thank the local businesses for bringing their paper to be recycled at our schools:
