Your Parent Mentors are available to both the family and school staff for support, information and resources. We believe that when the family and schools work together as a team, the child benefits by receiving the most appropriate services for learning.
Parent Mentor Services
• Provide information on special education law, school
district programs and services, and community resources.
• Listen and provide support to families and educators on an
individual basis
• Attend Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings upon the
request of a parent or staff member
• Provide regular group support opportunities for families
• Arrange information sessions and workshops based on the
interests expressed by families
• Maintain a Resource Library with the most current, helpful
collection of books, booklets, DVD’s, tapes and brochures from
community resources
