DEAR 5TH GRADE PARENTS:

Our 5th grade music students will be playing recorders in class after holiday vacation. Students who have recorders at home from previous study may use those in our class. We use one, two or three piece Soprano recorders.

Any 5th grader student who does not have a recorder needs to purchase one. Soundboard Music on Fishcreek Road (near the Acme Plaza) will be our supplier of recorders. The price is $3.00 and includes a case and cleaner.

We will begin our recorders the week of January 12th. Please let me know if you have a problem getting a recorder. Part of their grade will be based on bringing materials to class.

FIFTH GRADE RECORDER CLASS

MATERIALS NEEDED:
-Soprano Recorder
-Folder with pockets (YOU CANNOT TAKE MUSIC HOME UNTIL YOU SHOW ME YOUR FOLDER!)

GRADING:
-Bringing your recorder to class – 50%
-Attitude and participation – 50%

GROUPS:
-There will be two groups working in class.
-One will be a Beginners group
-One will be an advanced group for those who have played before.

MUSIC MAESTROS CLUB:
This is available to both beginner and advanced groups when they accomplish a checklist of songs on their level (see other side)
