The following is a non-inclusive list of activities considered learning experiences
by the Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools Local Professional Development Committee
(LPDC) IF THEY RELATE DIRECTLY TO THE GOAL OF APPROVED INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS (IPDP). Educators may be innovative beyond this list; the
end results of the activity should be a product that enhances the educator's
skills and knowledge. Any activity not included on this list must receive prior
approval by the LPDC.
The Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools LPDC, through provisions of Senate Bill
230, now has the authority to grant local CEU credit to activities such as
these:

OPTION CEU VALUE MAXIMUM CEUs VERIFICATION CRITERIA College Courses 1 sem. hour = 3 CEU Official Transcript reflecting credit granted. *Must be taken through an accredited college or other approved post-secondary
educational institution. Must be taken for credit. Professional Conference/Workshop, i.e. NCTM 1 contact hour = 0.1 CEU Record of registration schedule of programs attended (include times)
- activity log/certificate of attendance *Must include only time spent in those portions of the conference
program that relate to the participant's IPDP goal. Mentoring 4 CEUs/year EYT Activity Documentation (Name, dates, university support information) *Must relate directly to the IPDP goal of the cooperating teacher
or mentor. Publication of Original Work Amount of CEUs awarded dependent upon pre-approved activity log. Copy of publication *Must contribute to the education profession or relate to the body
of knowledge in the individual's specific field and align with your goal . Presentation at Professional Meeting or
Conference Up to 1 hour = 0.5 CEUs Activity Documentation *Must be done independent of any requirement for college credit,
CEUs or regular duties. Standing District Committee (i.e. IAT, FAC, textbook selection, curriculum
revision) 2 CEUs per district committee District CEU certificate *Must be service on formal committee. *Committee must align with your goal. National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certification Up to 6 CEUs for participation in process during licensure cycle. 18 CEUs per candidate Valid copy of the National Certificate or Activity Documentation
log for candidate not completing certificate. *Must be in the subject are of the individual's assignment. Certificate
must be completed or participation as candidate must be verified by
the expiration date of the Ohio certificate/license. Grant Writing 0.5 CEU - Local Activity Documentation *CEUs not dependent of awarding the grant. LPDC Service 3 CEUs every school year Appointment and completion of service. (2-year school year) * Professional Associations (officer, steering committee) 1 CEU/year for officer Activity Documentation *
3 quarter hours/2 semester hours = 6 CEUs

All hours are subject to pre-approval by the IPDP.
The Local Professional Development Committee of Stow-Munroe Falls Schools has created the following list of pre-approved providers of professional development. These providers are recognized by the LPDC as organizations that support continuing professional development of educators, consider the delivery of quality professional development as part of their missions, and continually seek to be responsive to the needs of educators, their districts, buildings and students. All Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools educators must discuss with their LPDC any providers who do not appear on this list prior to engaging in professional growth activities which they may wish to use for certificate/license renewal. All sessions must align with individual goals within your IPDP Plan.
