National Honor Society

Stow-Munroe Falls High School

National Honor Society is the premiere service organization for juniors and seniors who have shown outstanding accomplishments in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service. To be eligible for membership, a junior or senior must have attended Stow-Munroe Falls High School for one semester and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.60 based on grades beginning in grade 9 (middle school if high school classes taken). Candidates for selection will possess the required grade point and be involved in several extra- and co-curricular activities. The candidate will serve as a leader in the classroom, be a positive role model for all students, and have no major disciplinary infractions. The NHS Faculty Council will evaluate students for membership in these areas by use of student application in the area of Service, a faculty rating scale in the areas of Leadership and Character, and school disciplinary records. After chosen as new members and inducted into NHS, students will be expected to maintain the same standards of Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service for which they were inducted. Thirty (30) hours of service within National Honor Society will also be required for members to be in good standing and to wear the NHS cords at graduation. Failure to maintain these standards could result in dismissal from the organization.

Fall NHS Induction is October 8, 2008.

Spring Induction is April 30, 2009.
